Danielle's Perspective:

In true fashion I have delayed writing this. Not because of any objections, but because I’m a procrastinator at heart, to the opposite of John’s get it done asap mentality. That’s one example of how we differ but ultimately balance each other.

John is my rock. He is so grounded and rational. He can be completely objective in a situation and get to the root of an issue. He calms me down and places a lens of perspective on situations. He is so smart, responsible, and makes me feel safe. He picks me up in all my weaknesses and supports me in any way necessary.

John is open minded and accepts but sometimes quietly shakes his head at all the new things I subject him to. Some are embraced, some not so much, some turn out to be better than he imagined, some may be acknowledged mistakes…. Through it all he’s still there.

He supports Brooklyn in all her activities and attends with a smile, which makes me smile at this man who ultimately is stepping up and filling THE seat.

I love John with my whole being. I am so excited to embark on life with him. For the many adventures ahead, I can’t wait to see what life has in store.

John’s Perspective:

I had been on all the dating apps and had given up on ever meeting the one; then came Danielle. What started with a meet and greet at RockWood quickly led to what Danielle says is our first date to Washington DC. All of a sudden we put several more dates and months together and I was meeting my soon to be daughter Brooklyn at a unique restaurant located in a grocery store.

Danielle forces me out of my comfort zone and gets me to try things I would have never done before her. I have been to symphonies, military balls, and have tried a lot of interesting food. Danielle has embraced my love for pro wrestling and can even hold a conversation about Roman Reigns and sing the words to Cody Rhodes entrance song.

I believe in my heart Danielle is capable of anything, and I was proud to be in the crowd this year as she received her hard earned college degree. I love Danielle’s passion and strong held opinions that includes her never back down attitude (no way The Rock will wrestle at Wrestlemania or the Wizards will lose when they are down by 20 with 30 seconds left).

I am excited for what life will bring as Danielle’s husband. I do know it will involve high school field hockey games, interesting food, knowing what is going on in Real Housewives, learning about all the feuds the hip hop artists are having, doing fall-ish things and wearing very popular brands. Most importantly, I know it will be full of laughter and love.

When I am having the worst times in my life Danielle is the one I want holding my hand and when I am experiencing the highest of highs, Danielle is the first one I want to tell about it.

I can’t wait to start our forever.
